Orlando Wedding Photographer MAD Images

Finding the perfect wedding photographer for your wedding can be a challenge. Learn about one of our Platinum Wedding Photographers: M.A.D Images, a very colorful and fun photographer. In this interview as we ask Melissa all about her business and what makes her unique from other wedding photographers in the Orlando Florida area.

Q: What is your favorite part of what you do?

A: I would say capturing the emotions of two people in love. Whether it’s a ceremony or reception, no matter what it is, you can capture so many people like laughing, smiling, crying, laughing again. Honestly that’s my favorite part.

Q: Do you only do wedding photos?

A: I would say my full time is weddings but I have lots of couples come back to me and I do their maternity, family and it’s a lot of fun. I get to watch their milestones.

Q: How many weddings have you done?

A: Between second shooting and my weddings I would have to say In the hundreds.

Q: What is your style of photography?

A: I would say my style would be very moody, very emotional. If you go to my website or Instagram all the laughs, all of the tears, everything is genuine. I let them be around each other. Sometimes I’ll ask questions to get those emotions or I’ll even tell them to say silly sayings to make them laugh. so everything I have on my portfolio is very genuine. That’s what I like to capture, a lot of emotions and not forced poses.

Q: What kind of questions do you ask in order to get these natural emotional photos?

A: I ask them to think about the first time you met him or her. What did you think? Or if I want them to laugh I’ll ask them to whisper something in your ear like how to make a sandwich in your sexiest voice or something funny. I will do whatever it takes to make you guys laugh and normally that’s in the beginning of the photo session just because sometimes you are nervous Just to make you guys like forget where you guys are but to know that they’re photos but they’re not so bad.

Q: What’s the hardest part of your job?

A: I would say the hardest part is more of a physical aspect with having two cameras on with really heavy lenses and just being on your feet all day. Just having really heavy equipment on your back really pays a toll on it.

Q: What’s your favorite part of your job?

A: I’m a people person so I love to meet new people. I love when people like tell me the whole story like how they met, how they fell in love. It’s so cute. I get so  into the couple where I’m  like you know I always want to make this the best day of their lives. So that was always my goal. I want my part of the vendor experience to be fun. Meeting the couples, connecting them and photographing them. Photographing their love and showing them how amazing they are.

Q: What can someone expect when they work with you?

A: I like to be super organized and I will be with them the entire step of the way. Any questions you have, I want to answer them. Lighting, timewise, I am an open book. I want my part of being your photographer to be the easiest part and the funnest. I’m here to answer and I’m here to help.

Q: What are some things that couples typically ask you?

A: They typically ask me about the editing part or like they ask me questions about posing. Like “hey I’m really awkward, do you have to pose me?” I tell them that I pose everyone but I want you to move within that pose. Whatever you feel like doing is going to be perfect. I’m never going to tell you no.

Q: How do you back up your stuff?

A: I come straight home (not every photographer is like this but I’m kind of a psycho when it comes to backing up which is a good thing) and I start loading your photos. I do not fall asleep until they are loaded cuz I just want to make sure they’re all loaded. Even if I’m up past 2 am making sure that they’re uploaded. Then after it loads to my hard drive, I’ll put it on a second hard drive and I also load it online.

As far as my backup system goes, the memory cards go straight into two fireproof and waterproof safes. I don’t want to ever be the person that loses your photos. I also don’t delete the online galleries, so they are always there if you need your photos.

Q: What are some helpful tips you would recommend to anyone getting married?

A: Make sure you read reviews of any vendors that you bring in. Also, ask questions! Don’t be afraid to ask questions and don’t be afraid to, you know, be there for another. I know with me like my husband had no idea what I was planning and asked me things like “do you really need this?” and I would say yes. Then at the end of our wedding my husband was like wow this is really great. I understand now why you wanted to have them. Finally it is your day, if you don’t like something tell them. just nicely just tell them “Hey can we do it this way”. It’s your day and make it fun. Just know not everything goes to plan so if not everything runs on time or something happens, that’s okay cuz we’re all here to shift our timeline the timelines just tells you no worries

Q: What is your favorite part about Trellis 925?

A: I really like the different textures and different styles you guys have inside and even outside. I’m really into industrial looks and spaces and one of my clients with you was too. So we took photos right behind Publix and it turned out really great.
