Fall Wedding with Gorgeous DIYs
Words from the Coordinator:
From the moment I met Ellie, I knew she was going to be an amazing bride to work with. She was in New Jersey visiting family, so we did a virtual meeting to discuss the decor for her wedding. Ellie has the sweetest voice and such a kind demeanor. She let me know they were going for some traditional fall colors and that she would be doing a lot of the decor herself. I love a good DIY, so I couldn’t wait to see what she had put together. She let me know that she was crafty, but I had no idea the pleasant surprise I was in for when I saw her wedding vision come to life.
Their background:
Ellie and Luis had been together for a long time and it really showed. The way that they interacted with each other and their families gave me the sense that they have an amazing bond and truly care so deeply for each other. They are so cute together and their sweet personalities and love for each other comes through in all the photos. From the decor to the private first touch and prayer, everything was just so them.
The wedding:
The bride and groom chose dark blue and burnt orange to be their wedding colors with touches of white and greenery everywhere. The bride used acrylic signs with vinyl she cut from her cricut for their welcome signs and seating charts, and trust me they look straight out of Etsy! She also used wood flowers that looked absolutely gorgeous for bouquets and decor. They also had a super cute ceremony arch from We Like to Party that doubled as the background for their sweetheart table. We loved the simple drapery and minimalist floral arrangement on the arch for a clean, simple, and elegant look for ceremony and reception.
For the dinner set up and reception, the couple chose dark blue linens with copper chargers and burnt orange napkins. The dramatic knot fold was striking and looks amazing in all the pictures. Cocktails Catering provided a delicious buffet style meal. Our favorite part of the reception tables were the DIY wood lanterns built and stained by the groom himself! The bride provided additional wood flower florals to tie in their wedding colors and theme.
Their cake from Cake and Bake, one of our preferred vendors, was simple and classic with a personalized cake topper. Their cake topper had their silhouettes and wedding date, which was a cute touch. They also had a neon sign which looked amazing on one of Trellis 925’s many greenery walls.
After dinner the party got started and we opened the dance floor in Trellis 925’s Sojourn Lounge. The bar was going and we had music provided by DJ Ivan! The couple had mainly family in their wedding party and they stayed to close the party down. The bride and groom had a blast dancing and mingling with their guests towards the end of the reception.
Finishing comments:
This wedding was absolutely beautiful and the couple was amazing to work with (double win)! We loved all the DIYs and the personalized feeling of the decor in this wedding. Even though they chose fairly common fall colors, they found a way to make everything their own and it turned out amazing. We look forward to seeing where life takes Elizabeth and Luis and wish them a lifetime of happiness and blessings.
