Halloween Masquerade Wedding Idea

In honor of the Halloween spirit, we decided to create a wedding design board and plan for our perfect Halloween wedding.

This is Claire, HUB 925’s wedding coordinator and In case you didn’t know this about me, I am SUPER into halloween, costumes and parties. I love dressing up and have always wanted to go to a masquerade like the ones you would see in movies about princes and princesses. I even thought about having one for my own wedding but was quickly declined by my now husband.

So how would I create HUB 925’s perfect Masquerade Wedding? I start with my Must-haves:

  1. Masks
  2. Awesome cake with (obviously) a candy buffet or dessert table.
  3. Pumpkins/ Jack-o-lanterns
  4. Halloween Themed cocktails and food.
  5. Halloween Themed Entertainment- Music and Other

In my mind, in order to have a Halloween Masquerade Wedding, these are things that are absolutely a MUST HAVE. I also believe in having entertainment outside of just music for guests (and myself) whether that be a photobooth, psychic, Clown, haunted house, etc.

Colors:

Gold, White, Burgundy/ Dark Red, Black, Green, Orange

Venue:

HUB 925, $6,500 Premium Package for 75 guests. Includes Full space rental for 8 hours, Tables, Chairs, Entree, 2 Appetizers, Cake cutting services, Day-of Coordinator, Basic Dinnerware, linens and Bartender.

Total: $6,500 +tax ~$7,000

Linens/Decor/Stationery:

White with gold sequined on cocktail tables, buffet and dessert table. White is included in Venue pricing, gold would be additional charge of $10/linen. For gold linens we need 1 90×156 for dessert table, and 6 120” round for cocktail tables. Estimating additional $80 for linens. For stationary I want black foil pressed save the dates, Invitations, RSVP cards, Table Numbers and Thank you cards. Estimate: $900.

Total: $980

Bridesmaids:

You had best bet that I would want all my bridesmaids to have masks. But I would want the stick masks because I want them to feel beautiful and elegant and experience all the fun of having their hair and makeup done. Beautiful stick wedding masks can be found for $30 or under here. I would have them hold the masks in place of holding a bouquet, which costs anywhere from $50 to $90 per bouquet. It also gives them a fun and non-perishable memento of the wedding that they wouldn’t get from a bouquet and saves me MONEY!

I’d also want them to be jewels or precious metals. All different colors and they can decide their colors and dress style: Emerald, Ruby, Sapphire, Diamond, Gold. Masks should match dress color but should be the same type of mask giving the matching look without actually matching. I’ve found that infinity dresses are an awesome way to get a matching look and feel without having matching dresses. They are also fairly affordable and can range from $30-$100. Your average cost for bridesmaid dresses is $150.

Total: $150 (masks only, bridesmaids pay for their own dress)

Groomsmen:

My girls get masks, the groomsmen get suspenders and bow ties to match the girl they are escorting. I just found these light up neon suspenders… I’m thinking these are going to be a must have, $30. And of course a black tuxedo ($130 rental).

Total: $150 (suspenders only, groomsmen pay for tux)

Dress:$1,600 (average)

Total: $1,900

Florals:

Pumpkins with florals, Jack-o-lanterns, candles and a garland for the estate table. With 75 guests including 5 bridesmaids, 5 groomsmen, bride and groom. I need 1 estate table that fits around 20 (4 8ft rectangular tables) and 2 large tables to fit 30 each or 6 8ft tables. I would want 10 pumpkins filled with flowers such as Burgundy Garden Roses, Astilbe, Cotton, Ranunculus, Burgundy Scabiosa, Burgundy Dahlia, and Eucalyptus.  A 35 ft to 40 ft Eucalyptus Garland for the estate table. Scattered candles of varying sizes and votives. And 20 very small jack-o-lanterns. The 20 jack-o-lanterns could be made by the bridal party sometime during the week prior to wedding as a fun get together. I would also need 7 matching boutonnieres for 5 groomsmen, groom and father of the bride. And of course the bridal bouquet! For all this we’re probably looking at $3,500-$4,000.

Total: $4,000

Food:

Entrees I think should stick to classics but Appetizers should have a fun Halloween twist to them. I’m thinking Bat Meatballs, Mummy brie cheese bites, eyeball or pumpkin deviled eggs, and bloody shrimp and grits. The caterer should have good ideas that they can create for you to pull off, however expect to have an up charge on the items. Since 2 Apps are covered in the venue rental and I want 4 there will be an additional up charge. Estimating up charge of $10 per person up charge with additional apps and specialty options as well as additional servers to pass food.

Total: $1,125

Drinks:

Blood Punch-

Mr. Hyde Potion

Providing your own alcohol, I use the Wedding Alcohol Calculator as a good reference for how much to buy and estimate pricing. However, you should talk with your bartender/caterer to verify the amount to spend. Estimate cost of bartender is about $600 and $500 for alcohol.

Total: $1,100

Cake/ Dessert Bar:

Can we imagine a red, black and gold watercolor cake with tons of texture and height from crystalized sugar and drips of gold or red.

Think:

 +

Personal cake to cut and save: $500

Desserts for the table include: mummy strawberries, cobweb chocolate covered oreos, eye-ball cake pops, and Frankenstein Rice crispy treats. You want to estimate that each of your guests will eat 3 desserts so you need a total of 225 desserts split in whatever way you want! (75×3=225)

Dessert Table: $800

Total: $1,300

Entertainment:

DJ: $1,000

Psychic: $400 for 4 hours of Psychic readings during your reception.

DIY Masks, $250 and craft supplies for guests, $100. Total: $350

Total: $1,750
